Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Bakersfield is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Bakersfield is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

β οΈ BEWARE β οΈ I got a Bolio with cream and jalapeΓ±o plus champurrado from here, and a few days later I ended up with stomach pain for 2 days followed by diarrhea. Something was NOT right. I would seriously be cautious eating here. π©

Went in for tamales Guatemalan and did not disappoint. While there I also got sweet bread. Will be back to get more items from there.

Los Quetzales Bakery is a local gem Iβve loved sharing with both family and the office. Walking in early morning, youβre greeted with the warm aroma of fresh-baked goods that instantly makes you smile. The family who runs it pours their heart into every batch, and the kindness at the counter always makes the stop even sweeter. If you want an authentic taste of Central American and Mexican pastries β from soft conchas to flaky delights β this is where you go. Always fresh, always flavorful, always worth it. π₯ββ¨

There was a variety of sweet breads and there were cookies out on trays and while looking at them there were bugs crawling over some of the cookies that weren't in the bakery cases. There was also a lot of flies inside. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence and not how the bakery operates usually.
